Пока Аарон Шварц нас не покинул, я честно сказать, особо и не слышал о нем, хотя, как теперь вспоминаю, в силу природной запасливости скачал тот торрент с документами JSTOR. Однако теперь по каким то ссылкам нашел его блог, который было бы небезинтересно почитать.

В частности, несколько дней назад прочитал http://www.aaronsw.com/weblog/productivity . Очень неплохая статья, вещи там описанные достаточно очевидны сами по себе, но, пока не попробуешь сам, зачастую думаешь, что очевидное вряд ли может быть полезным.

Но, как оказалось, таки может. В сочетании с http://planary.ru , который, о чудо, умеет jabber, и весьма гибко управляется в этом аспекте, дело пошло, да так, что пока только удивляюсь.

PS Очень ощущается, что давно не писал текстов, ощущения феерической корявости не покидает. Но надо же, в конце концов, когда-то начинать/продолжать...

PPS Хорошая цитата по ссылке:

Hey, thanks so much for sharing! I've been thinking the exact same thing just a few days ago, that the tasks have to be chosen according to the "quality" of free time, it's like GTD contexts, but the context is not a location but one's mental, physical and emotional state. I also agree that it's better to have a bucket of all kinds of different tasks and to switch between them at will than to trudge through one relentlessly until you're sick of it. I know about intrinsic vs extrinsic motivation from the Gamification course, and I've experienced procrastination being a powerful motivator for productivity in an entirely unrelated field :) though I've never managed to use this effect consciously.

So in short, the article is full of common-sense ideas, but it's very reassuring to read it all together in a nice and concise way, and it may be a very needed nudge in the right direction! I confess I've never heard of Aaron Swartz either before his unfortunate incident, apparently he was a really smart guy with a lot of potential...

Yeah, it's pretty straightforward and common-sense, but we are often tend to just blindly stare at many obvious things, though they might in fact be at some degree valuable...

By the way, is that Gamification course is the one on Coursera? If so, what other interesting courses have you attended?

Yes, Coursera! You're a fan too? XD Which ones did you take?

I guess it depends on what you find interesting... My other 2 favorite courses (besides Gamification) were An Introduction to Interactive Programming in Python and Model Thinking - not only useful but hilarious! Then, Cryptography I and Web Intelligence and Big Data, they were rather difficult and not of any practical use (except as a motivation to learn Python :), Human-Computer Interaction (boring because I ignored the practical part, it required too much *human* interaction, lol), and a couple more I quit in the middle because I couldn't keep up. Now I'm taking Think Again: How to Reason and Argue (easy and fun but some lectures are incredibly boring), The Modern World: Global History since 1760 (kind of meh) and Programming Languages (difficult and crazy cool!)

Yes, definitely a fan. =)

It began a couple of years ago, when I took an AI course directly from Stanford, I guess it was barely first such remote video-course. Then I suddenly found that I liked it much both materials and format, and then, after some time, Coursera has emerged.

It was difficult to take courses up to the end, sometimes due to my job, sometimes because of my poor self-timemanagement at that time, but I kept trying. So for the moment my courses are: Algo{1,2} by Tim Roughgarten, DBMS (J, Widom), Programming Languages (University of Washington) and Model Thinking.
It is sometimes frustrating to me that I cannot take too much courses simultaneously, it's difficult to wait for a next couple of years to take some more of them, they are just too interesting! =)

Интересно. Но для планирования я предпочитаю бумажные носители. Практика показывает и убеждает в том что на бумаге планируется лучше.

Просто у меня исторически сложилась более компьютеризированная рабочая среда...
